Pearl Bay was a nice peaceful anchorage with a slight roll. We lifted anchor and set course for Middle Percy, there was a slight haze and no wind. As much as we like wind sometimes it's nice to have no wind & calm seas. I was able to read my book & enjoy the whales.

As we approached Middle Percy Island, we saw the sad sight of the grounded yacht in the distance. We anchored in West Bay which is well known for the A-frame building with many yacht memorabilia left by passing sailors.

We didn’t waste time in getting Time Flies packed up and launching the dinghy for a trip to shore. I was looking forward to seeing the memorabilia, there was plenty of it. We met a few guys from Mackay who were over camping & fishing. It takes them 2hrs to get here from the main land, it will take us 4-5hrs. They gave us a lovely coral trout & invited Dean to go spear fishing with them the next day.

We met Ernst one of the caretakers who makes a goat curry for the boaties every Sunday. All he asks is if we can supply some vegetables. Easy done we gave him some pumpkin & broccoli. Yay, no cooking for us today. The goats were originally introduced to some of the islands for people who got shipwrecked, this would provide them with food until rescued. Unfortunately some of the islands are now overrun by them and they need to be culled.

There was a good gathering of boaties for sundowners & goat curry. Ernst collected a few coconuts to go into the curry & for us to also enjoy. We had another amazing sunset before enjoying a yummy dinner, we also got to enjoy some lamb stew made by Wally, it reminded me of my mums.
